Tsuno menstrual pads are made from a natural bamboo and corn fibre top sheet. Conveniently, they are individually wrapped in biodegradable sleeves before being finally packaged into recyclable cardboard boxes. Bamboo is a great choice for feminine hygiene products like pads because it is one of the most eco-friendly and sustainable fibres available. It grows really fast, puts low demands on resources and has a natural resistance to pests and fungi. For pads, it is super absorbent, breathable, antibacterial and, importantly, soft and comfortable. Of course, no chlorine or dioxin bleach is used in the making of Tsuno pads.
Tsuno tampons are made with certified organic cotton. They're certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and registered under the Therapeutic Goods Administration. Tampons from Tsuno are free from pesticides, fertilisers and it's good to know that no unhealthy farming practices are associated with the manufacture of these tampons.
Tsuno is a wonderful social enterprise, too - 50% of their profits are donated to charities focused on empowering women with the main focus being on education and menstrual support.
